Once, spawning becomes a priority, salmon leave their saltwater homes to go upstream. There is where they meet bear hungry for their tender meat. Anglers can challenge them in the same streams and lakes. These salmon are determined to go spawn so expect just as much challenge there. Whether you decide to take them on in salt or fresh water, salmon fishing must be part of any fishing vacation in Alaska.
